BE YOURSELF

I've heard this quote a millon times before, and I know you have too, but only recently did I truly understand what it meant.
I always thought how can you be more than you already are, cause you are you. But then I realised that being yourself means

not caring or worrying what others think about you

having the curage to speak your mind

having the courage to say no

chosing to do something because you enjoy it, not because someone said so

Being yourself is not easy, but I definitely think that as we grow older, time makes us stronger and the things that we go trough, whether good or bad, are going to help us discover ourselves and who we want to be and it will surely make it easier for you to... be you :)

Have an amazing week!

Party at the Beach

Happy happy Sunday!
This weekend has been a veeery hot one, with 30something ºC every single day. Therefore, this weekend was also a very casual one. I did't get to do much, but stay inside, away from the heat and only go out in the evenings, when the cool breeze of the river would make its appearance. There was, though an event on Saturday that saved the day- a party on the "beach" (an artificial beach actually :D ). Even though I didn't get there early enough for the little concert that was on, I did however make it just in time for the bonfire. All of us gathered around the fire, trying to make ourselves as cozy as posible. Folk music, quitars playing, people singing together the songs- it was such a beautiful image.
So here is what I wore:
*btw... took a walk in the park before we actually headed down to the beach and so that's where the photos were taken*

As the party was on the beach, I wore a striped full body swimsuit from Pull&Bear, white shorts from Kiabi Kids (yeah, that's right, I wear children clothes!), and sandals from Benvenuti. I don't remember where the scarf is from because I have it from a long time ago, but the rest of the accessories are thrifted.

Nope, I lied. Actually the earrings are not thrifted, they're from H&M, but you can find this style  pretty much everywhere.

I kept the make up minimal- a bit of mascara, blush and a pinky nude lipstick to seal the deal. :)

That's all for this week. I hope you had a lovely Saturday and Sunday, and I'll talk to you tomorrow!

My Favourite Healthy Drinks

Good day, friends!
The much awaited Friday has finally come, and what better way to relax after a whole week of work or sleepless nights, than with a cold, healthy and delicious drink? Today I am going to share with you the recipes for two divine tasting drinks that I absolutely love!

1. Goodie juice

Ingredients:
☼ 1 large carrot
☼ 1 large apple
☼ 1 slice of beetroot (if you actually like beetroot, you cana add more)

I really like carrots and they are so good for your eyes, as they contain plenty of vitamin A.
And even though I don't like the taste of beetroot, I do try to incude it in my nutrition because it is an amazing source of iron. If you don't like it either, adding just a slice (as seen in the picture) won't change the taste at all, I would say :).

2. Energy smoothie

        Ingredients:
☼ 1 cup of milk (it can be cow, soy, almond, coconut-your choice)
☼ 1 handful of blueberries
☼ 1 banana
☼ maca powder
☼ kelp powder
☼ you can also add a pinch of cinnamon (I forgot), which tastes great in this combination

Maca is a superfood which can do wonders for your body. Rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber it gives you plenty of energy; and it's hormonal balancing properties make it perfect for all women (let's just say.. goodbye PMS!)
Kelp is a type of algae, another superfood, which contains B vitamins (great for energy), C and E vitamins (antioxidants and good for blood vessel health).

I hope you try these recipes as well and if you do, let me know in the comments what you thought of them, or I'd love it even more to see pictures on Instagram- if you tag the photo with #FridayGoodieTime I'll be able to look them up. :)
Until next time!

What I Learned During My Gap Year

Long time, no see!
Wow, back to awkward writing...
For this blog post I am going to share with you my experience during my gap year and what I have learned from it.

1. I love studying.
Probably ever since I started first grade and until I finished 12th grade, I have felt one thing: I hate school.
However, during this year, sometime between being bored to death and meeting a bunch of people, I realized that knowing things is AMAZING! I loved the fact that I could carry intelligent conversations with others and that I could participate in a debate, and the fact that when I would witness a conversation I actually had an idea of what they were talking about.
Moreover, I realized that whatever we are taught in school, contrary to most teenegers' beliefs,  is truly for our benefit.
It's amazing to understand the present by looking at the past, and you have no idea how many times I've used the geography I had learned in school to plan trips and vacations.

2. Time is going by so fast.
When you're young, you don't really think about the future. You have so many things that you want to do, and you just tell yourself "Meh, I have plenty of time to do them, I'm still young!". Well, don't be so sure... Try to do someting useful or something pleasant every day, try to actually follow those new years resolutions, so that at the end of the year or at the end of your youth, even your life, you dont feel regretful that so much time has passed and you haven't done one thing.
You don't have to wait for something to happen, be the one to make it happen.

3. One year might still not be enouh to decide what you want to do.
If you're thinking of having a gap year in order to discover and decide what you want to do, it might not be the best idea. There probably are people for whom this method has worked, but I don't believe it it possible to figure out your life in one year, and it definitely didn't happen for me.
I still don't know if the college I have chosen is the right one and I still have no freaking idea what I'm going to do after graduation.
However, whith so much time on your hands, you will be able to take on new hobbis and discover passions which could lead you to new ideas, a new mentality and new possible jobs that you maybe never even knew they existed.

4. People judge.
Most people still haven't shaken off that ancient old mentality that school is everything and that if you haven't gone to college you mean pretty much.. nothing?
Besides the looks people give you when you tell them "Oh, I'm not going to college this year :)", the dissapointment of your family is quite crushing, especially when they had high expectations from you. So if you're thinking of taking a gap year, you might want to take in consideration how your family will think of it. Now, I'm definitely not telling you to listen to everyone else's opinion instead of your own heart... I'm just warning you, that it might be surprisingly hard for you if you don't get support from your parents at least.

5. There will be times when you'll feel lonely.
While you're at home, chillin', probably feeling a bit bored, everyone else is busy. Your friends are either off to college, or working, or doing something that's keeping them occupied, so you're not going to hear from them as much, your going out sessions will probably not happen as often and you might feel forgotten-which is not the case, don't worry. So, during the gap year, make sure you also do something: get a job, volunteer, even travel the world if you have the money. Afterall, make sure you get out of the house ;).

That's it! As a conclusion, I'd like to point out that a gap year can be extremely beneficial and good for you. I definitely don't regret doing this at all. There are so many things you can learn and discover, but it can also be a waste of time if you just sit around and do nothing.
So my advice to you: make plans to do fun things, to try new things and to explore the world!

Have a lovely day!

Good Morning!

Good morning everyone!

My favourite way to start the day (it rhymes!) is with a healthy breakfast, reading my favourite blogs.
Today I ate a nice bowl of yougurt with cereals and fruits. During the summer I usually use berries, but since it's not their season yet bananas and apples are a delicious combination! You can also add some honey or cinnamon if you like it more flavoured :)

I love Niomi Smart's blog! She's such an inspiation, especially if you're into having a healthy  lifestyle. But aside from that, she also talks about fashion and travelling. I just can't get enough of her.

Favourite clothing stores

Hello, again!
Ok, so the other day I was on Yahoo!Answers, searching some fashion questions to answer to. As I was scrolling down the page, I came across someone asking which were our favourite clothing shops.
Fastforward today... And I am now writing a blog post on it. Thanks, annonymus person!

Whenever I go to the mall, I enter almost any shop in my sight, but there are a few which make me excited everytime I'm about to walking in.

1. ZARA
One reason I reaaally like Zara is for their design on clothes. They're so classy and sophisticated.
Another reason I like them is for the quality of clothes. I mean sure, they're more expensive than other brands, but if you want something that will last...forever? then I think Zara does a great job in that department.
And the last reason I can think of is that they take themselves seriously. Meaning? If there's a sale, then there's a sale. I don't know what's like in your country, but over here it is quite rare you find really good deals on sales.
And speaking of sales... Here are some bargains I found:

DOUBLE-BREASTED SHORT COAT                        FABRIC BLAZER                             SLEEVELESS A-LINE DRESS              BLOUSE WITH FRILLED SLEEVE AND NECKLACE
              59.99 USD - 149.00 USD                            29.99 USD - 79.90 USD                           29.99 USD - 79.90 USD                            22.99 USD - 49.90 USD

2. H&M
When the first H&M shop opened in my city I was in heaven!
What's great about it is that they have something for everyone- teens, children, women, men. They got ya' covered! Oh, and they have a department for home as well, but I'm sure you already knew that.
Another thing I like about H&M? They have really good basics, for really good prices.
And last but definitely not least...they have tons of accessories (love their bags)!
And now lemme show you a little bit what I'm talking about...

KNIT SWEATER                                 PENCIL SKIRT                                      HANDBAG                                      LOAFERS
                 24.95 USD                                    12.95 USD                                         24.95 USD                                     14.95 USD

3. New Look
There are mainly two reasons why I like New Look. First, I loooove their stuff; they have such unique pieces and everytime I walk in their store I am amazed at how beautiful some of the thing are.
Second, they have student discounts! How awesome is that?
And oh, yeah... they have sales right now for up to 70% :)

CREAM CHECK DOLLY COAT                   ORANGE ZIP POCKET WRAP SKORT                BLUE CREPE FLORALPRINT DRESS                 QUILTED BACKPACK SATCHEL
               44.45 USD - 88.88 USD                           10.90 USD - 27.25 USD                           21.32 USD - 35.54 USD                             21.32 USD - 35.54 USD

NOTE:  * Because the prices for New Look are either in £ or , I used a convertor to write the prices in USD.
                 * I was not paid to write this, all opinions are my own :)

So which are your favourite shops?

Top 4: How to Style Army Green Pants

Hello, lovelies!

A few days ago I bought another item for my wardrobe: army green pants. And as I was searching on Pinterest for some ways I could style them, I realised the lack of color in pretty much every outfit I saw.
Of course I just could not let it go (it's not in my nature), so I put together a few outfits for eveyone else who wants some color back into their lives (or their outfit).

 Which one's your favourite?
